Landform Vlll, 2024

Scrap steel, 10.5 × 11.5 × 4.25 in

Landform VIII constructs a windswept landscape from hand-cut and welded steel, with two palms bending toward one another above flowing forms that move across the ground like water and terrain. The sweeping fronds and curved steel create a sense of weather and movement, while visible welds, oxidation, and heat marks preserve the material history of its making. The work transforms rigid steel into a landscape that appears to sway, bend, and move.
