The Afro Block Party

The Afro Block Party is an evolving visual world that began with hand-carved prints and expanded into murals, public art, textiles, installations, and civic-scale works throughout San Francisco.

Through recurring characters, patterns, language, and cultural symbols, the series transforms public space into sites of joy, recognition, memory, and belonging—making the people, histories, humor, and visual culture of Afatasi’s community visible within the city.
