This Sac Coat debuted at the 2026 Futurism Fashion Experience at the Aviation Museum at San Francisco Airport.
The fabric was found in a bargain bin in Harlem, New York, and held for some time before becoming part of the series. Afatasi was drawn to its antique quality, heavy texture, and unusual color combination of grey, mustard, and yellow. The material has the weight of upholstery fabric, which contrasts with the lightness of lace.
That tension between heaviness and delicacy gives the piece its character: off-color, textured, irregular, and intentionally unexpected.
